The rise in popularity of the air fryer has got interior designers in Tunbridge Wells thinking about whether kitchens in the future will require ovens. Are air fryers a trend that will stay? Read on to find out an interior designer in Tunbridge Wells thoughts, and whether an oven is still going to be a necessity in kitchens in the future.

The decline of the AGA
Growing up my family home always had an AGA. We lived in the countryside and the kitchen to us was a big part of family life. From cooking delicious food and drying clothes to the family dog bed at its base, the AGA was very much a focal point in our kitchen and it’s something I always dreamed of having when I was older.
When my husband and I bought our first cottage together, we were delighted to see that it had one – an AGA of our very own! I was so excited, and it felt so grown up. However, shortly after moving in we noticed the extortionate cost of running it, we worked out our converted electric AGA was costing us £14 a day in running costs! That’s over £5,000 a year! So sadly, we just felt we could justify having it turned on, especially as we had a smaller oven to the side that we could turn on and off like a normal oven.
When it came to redoing our kitchen, we decided that we should sell our beautiful AGA (it still makes me sad saying this) as we simply couldn’t justify using it. I managed to sell it on Facebook marketplace for £1,000, a fraction of what it cost new which we think was around £14,000. In fact, our builder had even admitted that he’s had to smash up a few before because demand for them was so low.
What do interior designers in Tunbridge Wells think of air fryers?
I’ve been aware of the increase in air fryer popularity over the past few years, as a mother, they frequently come up in conversation with friends, because we all know that being able to knock up a meal in speedy time is key – one it means you don’t have to rush back from an afternoon activity just to switch the oven on, and two sometimes that toddler hunger kicks in and you wish those sausage would hurry up and cook! So yes, owning an air fryer has crossed my mind. However, as an interior designer in Tunbridge Wells, aesthetically I’m just not sure I want another bulky and unattractive item on my worksurface. That is until I was introduced to From Our Place – a 6 in one air fryer and toaster oven. Available in four pleasing colours and designed to suit stylish kitchens, I feel this is an air fryer that I can get on board with.
I’ve also noticed more and more supermarket products providing air fryer cooking instructions on food, showing that they believe this trend is here to stay.
So, to conclude, what does an interior designer in Tunbridge Wells think?

I think there will always be a place for ovens, I mean how on earth would you cook a Christmas meal in air fryers alone – you’d need a few and aesthetically that’s not such a great look! However, with new sleek designs available, offering both air fryer and ovens within, perhaps I may cave sometime soon and learn a new way of speedy cooking – I am a busy mum after all, but my oven is definitely staying.
